Walks

As a rule of thumb, find and follow the blue triangles .. these are painted on rocks, walls, trees etc to guide the way on these walks. Being Ibiza they can sometimes be other colours e.g. orange and they can also mean land boundaries rather than directions.

Santa eulalia – cala llonga
From the apartment walk to the river at the end of the bay. Go over the bridge and walk along sea edge. Go past the next beach following the path.  Join road turning left and continue a km or so. Turn left down rough road. Before villa at end turn right at cairns and paint. Follow path (lots paint) down to the valley floor and find the smugglers cave. Faff around a while. Follow path back up the valley. At clearing turn left along st cut back towards sea. Clearing/path peters out at cliff edge. Go straight up hill to viewpoint at the top (looks over cova blanca). Walk up shite road to junction of road and take path to the left up to the top of the hill. Continue down by sea edge to join unmade road and go down into cala llonga.  Have a swim, beer and get the boat back.

This is also bikeable .. with some little un-rideable bits were you have to hoik the bike along paths and up hill. Bike from Cala Llonga back via the gowf clubs.

Heavens Door / Ses Ballandres
After tortilla and sangria at Can Cosmi, Santa Agnes leave the car and walk left (facing can Cosmi) along the road signposted Cami De Pla De Corona. When you reach an old well as the road veers left, turn right and follow the path. Head along the path, veering right then left (then a few other veers) heading towards the sea and the gap in the ridge-line. When you get to a cleft in the ridge. Go down the cleft, aided by the ladders, This was called Heaven Door by the Hippy Folk. . If this was un-nerving, you now reach a point where you can only go down aided by a rope. At the bottom there is a lovely bay and fishermans huts, perfect for a swim. When you get back to the top of Heavens Door head left and follow the small path (watch for the ubiquitous blue markers) to a track. If you down down the path to the sea you reach deserted finca/sea-huts. Follow the path to the left and you get to the road, left back to Santa Agnes and right to a rather nice bar with stunning view at sunset.

Cala D’Albarca
Follow the small asphalt road to the left facing Sant Mateu church for 1.6km and turn rt up the track to parking area at the top. There are paths to the left, middle and right. The middle path goes down an old road and then scramble down the rocks to the bay, lovely snorkelling. The path to the right follows the cliff for a couple of km, with a turning down to another part of the bay.

Hiking tour 1

Santa Eularia – Cala Llonga
Approx: 8 km / 3 h / altitude difference 200 m

This hiking tour starts at the harbour promenade of Santa Eulorio del Riu and from here we head towards Siesta. At the end of the promenade we cross the river of Santa Eulorio. On the other side of the bridge turn left. At the end of this pathway we turn left again and arriving at the sea turn right. We walk along the coast, passing a big stone cairn and head uphill. The path ends as the forest does, where we have to turn left and enter a roadway climbing the hill. Before we arrive at the highest point we turn right. To the left there is a large plot with a house upon it. We take a new path leading us over the top of the hill and head down to a new urban area. We follow this route until we come to an open space and cross this in a diagonal direction. Here begins a new path into the forest to the next hill, passing an old chalk-oven. Now we have to descend, following the narrow curves until a camino which is asphalted further down and brings us to the beach of Cala Llonga. We have the choice of means to go back to Sant Eulorio by boat, bus or taxi.

Hiking tour 2

Sant Carles – Cala Mastella • Sant Carles

Approx: 9 km / 3 h / altitude difference 120 m

Starting from Bar Anita we turn left towards Cala Sant Vicent. After 15 meters on the right hand side our marked and climbing hike begins. Having reached the top of the hill we turn left and go down into the valley. We come to a ruin and turn right. After another 100 metres we continue turning left towards the valley. By a transformer we turn left. Our path leads us directly to a white finca and we follow the way to the valley “torrente socarrat”.
On the right we notice a finca with a huge garden, protected by a stone-wall. We go up in a semi left direction. On arriving at the highest point we can see the sea and follow the path down passing a nice villa area. The path runs to the Sant Carles/Cala Boix road. We cross this road and use the path behind the restaurant “Sant Seni” to the left of Cala Mastella. On the right of the beach we climb the rocky path and recognise immediately the mark which takes us to Cala Llenya. Further on another path we find a path to the left, passing a transformer.
60 metres later we turn left, passing a threshing place. We arrive at an urban area and the path changes to an asphalt road. We follow this marked road which turns right after a while and then left. From the top of the hill you can see the restaurant “Mama Italia” to the right. We proceed straight ahead on the road to Sant Caries which turns right. After another 30 metres we turn right and enter the forest. A few minutes later we are on the road again and shortly af- terwards enter a turning to the right onto a path to Sant Carles.
We pass through a forest, arriving at a camino and turn left, pas-sing gardens and climbing a small hill. As soon as we arrive at the top we look back and enjoy the beautiful sea view and ahead the wide interior of the island. It is recommended to take a break before we continue on our path back to Sant Carles.

Hiking tour 3
Sant Carles – Cala Sant Vicent
Approx: 11 km / 3,5 h / difference in altitude 140 m

We start in Sant Carles at the church car park. At the curve by the bank we follow the asphalt road, passing plantations of bananas on the left and pretty gardens until we come to the Sant Carles/Sant Joan road. We turn right and after approx. 700 metres, at a curve which turns right, we enter a small path straight ahead which is marked in blue. Shortly we notice a white well on the right. A.t the next crossing we turn right and after 100 metres to the left at an angle of 90 degrees. We don’t leave this path until we spot another blue mark on a hand made stone wall. There we turn left and lead up the hill. After several minutes a new path brings us into a orest. We follow this path uphill through many curves and enjoy the beautiful view to Es Figueral, Santa Eulorio and Siesta.
The path ends at a broad camino, which we descend turning left. At the end of the fruit gardens we enter a forest. A few moments later the path rises and we arrive at a lovely old finca. We can see the church of Sant Vicent in the valley. After an instant the route ends at the asphalt road which we follow turning left towards the valley. To the left we see a spectacularly big pine-tree. 50m before we arrive at the Cala Sant Vicent/Sant Joan road we turn right into a small field path. We cross an asphalted road and the field-path be- comes broader. We follow this path parallel to the road.
Under a bridge we leave the valley and arrive at the beach of Sant Vicent, our destination and the place from which we set off. from here one can return by bus or taxi.

Hiking tour 4
Cala Mastella – Torre d’en Valls
Approx: 8 km / 3 h / altitude difference 80 m

We leave our car at the Ca la Mastella car park and follow the rocky path to the left of the “El Bigote” restaurant. Then follow it until the asphalt road. We turn right into the forest and a little further on we again encounter the asphalt road. We follow the marks on the coastal path until we reach a private lot and turn left onto the asphalt road. Then walk to the Cala Boix beach. Here it is considered a good idea to take a break and a swim. From the beach we cross a large field, then first left, then to the right until we come to a path with red pillars. We turn right after about 200 m. No longer following the red pillars. Passing different gardens, we soon have a view over Cala Sant Vicent.
We follow the small path which brings us over a flat rock to the hill. Having reached the highest point we find a barbecue place and an old chalk-oven. Now we turn and continue until we arrive at an iron gate and then turn right, rising to the “Torre d’en Valls”.
From here we have a beautiful panoramic view. Afterwards we return the same way back to the iron gate and turn to the right. We have a choice between the coastal path or the straight route to the restaurant “Salvado”. From here we don’t leave this path until the restaurant “Pou des Lleo”. In front of this restaurant the path continues until a portal, where we turn left. This path ends at a gravel drive in front of a house and we turn right onto the asphalted road. At the right curve we carry on straight ahead into a field path.
On the left there is a house with a chained dog. We follow this path until a hand made stone wall, turn left and cross it at a flat part. Then we follow the broad gravel way until the asphalt road. We turn right and return along the same route to Cala Mastella.

Hiking tour 5
Port de Sant Miquel – Torre des Molar
Approx: 5 km / 2 h / altitude difference 90 m

The tour starts on the left side of the bay where the marked path begins. We walk a few steps uphill and soon downhill again to a little bay. On the other side of the bay we walk to the right and continue uphill between two boat houses.
After some bends and nice views backwards we reach a wide stony path which we continue to follow to the right, going downhill to a small bay. After a break we go the same way back and follow the stony path until we reach the top.
Turning to the right we come to the Torre des Molar. The wall on the left hand side is broken and we can climb up to the tower. From the top we enjoy an exceptional view of the sea, small is- lands and the bay of Port de Sant Miquel in addition to the hinterland. We normally take a few minutes to enjoy this panorama before we leave.
Walking back we turn right onto a forest path, cross a glade and follow the marked path downhill to a small beach. From here we walk back to Port Sant Miquel.

Hiking tour 6
Coast Path – Cala Salada
Approx: 7-9 km /3 h / altitude difference 80 m
Access: Sant Antoni port

This tour has two severities. The first one is considered slightly difficult, on the second we have to climb sometimes and a little alpine experience is useful. A route of 7 km along the coast, with marvellous views. We start the tour on the left hand side of the promenade towards the centre. On the opposite side of the Club Nautic we turn left to the Carrer del Mar, follow the road uphill and turn left to the Carrer de Cervontes. At the crossroad with the Avinguda Isodor Macabich we turn right. We keep heading that way and take the next left (the second next is a traffic roundabout) to the Carrer de Sant Rosalia. Now we arrive at the sea. At Calo des Moro we follow the coastal path which is wide to begin with. To the right we pass an aquarium and soon reach the little beach of Cala Gracio. (The tasty Cortado which you can buy here may be a good reason to rest for a moment). The coastal path continues along the other side of the bay and soon we reach another little beach which is even smaller and even more romantic. Behind this bay we walk along the seaside, but the path is a little rough. Be careful and mind your step. At the top there is a villa which we pass to the left. We stay by the seaside and walk along to a restaurant which has a patio with pillars. Soon we reach a headland ‘Punta de sa Galera’. Following the coastal path we eventually reach a road which leads inland to the right.
At this point we have two options to continue the tour. There is a small wall on the left, after 20m. Behind that wall the path goes downhill on stones and a little stone stairway leads down to a small pebble beach. The more difficult route goes through a low pine wood, when we come from the coastal path and cross the road. Through the pine wood we reach a cliff, climb over a few cliff edges (you can easily find handholds amongst the stones and the step height can be managed by anyone) down to the same pebble beach. On the other side of the beach we climb up the steps and turn left to join the coastal path again. Shortly afterwards we reach the end of this tour for inexperienced walkers at the steep rugged rocks of Cala Salada, where the coastal path also ends. From here we can walk back the same way.
For those who would like to continue; the walking tour to Cala Salada continues up the tarmac road. On the left hand side we soon see a transformer painted white. At the next crossing the road turns right and we continue on our way to the left, pass several plots of land with buildings. Behind the last property a path through the forest brings us downhill to the main road. Walking to the left, leads into a blind alley, so we walk to the right and turn left again into a bicycle path behind the last property. This path ends again at the transformer. We pass the transformer on the left and follow the path through the forest until we reach a cliff edge. At that point we need some climbing experience again and after five steps we are on the lower path through the forest, which brings us to the restaurant Cala Salada. After a sunbathe, a swim in the sea or a tasty “Cortado” this marvellous coast walking tour ends here. A taxi brings us back to where we started.

Hiking tour 7
Santa Agnes – PenYa Esbarrada
Approx: 8 km / 3,5 h / altitude difference 140 m

Starting from the car park at Sant Agnes, 50 m to the left of the Restaurante Can Cosmi, we keep walking to the left until we reach the top of the incline. Then we walk slightly downhill and on the left we see a beautiful old Finca within a field of lavender. Shortly afterwards we turn right at a plateau, which brings us to the sea. We reach a small open area with big stones and enjoy the beautiful view to the rocky islands – Ses Margalides, Es Corrals and Sa IlIiot. When we turn around, we go to the right and continue our walk on a coastal path along the cliffs. We have high cliff edges in front of us and continue towards them on a path which is sometimes narrow and occasionally crosses stone plateaus. Soon we see the island of Saonillera with its light- house.
We climb further downwards and reach the ruin of an old Finca with an oven. We continue to follow our path to the left side, passing terraced fields and following our marked path. Crossing bamboo and a sedgey way we reach an old water basin. Later on we reach a junction where several paths cross. We keep on walking to the left and following several uphill turns. At an old chalk oven we go left. When we reach the top, we walk downhill to the right side on a wide stone pathway until we reach the tarmac. We walk about 400 m left and reach the plateau again from where we originally walked downhill at the beginning. From here we walk the same way back to the car.

Hiking tour 8
Torre des Savinar
Approx: 5 km / 2,5 h / altitude difference 140 m
Access: Cala Vadella / Cala d’Hort

Enjoy Es Vedro from several points of view. Coming from the Cala d’Hort / Cala Vadella crossing we follow the road up to the left hand and turn right into a camino after 500 m. We park our car and start our tour from here. On the the right we pass a country house. At the end of a large vineyard we turn left into a small path, which brings us to a beautiful sightseeing point. Lets stay for a while to enjoy this unusual view of Es Vedro and the dramatic coastline. Then we walk left along the coast, down the small path enjoying the marvellous views all of the way. On the plateau we do not head for the hill on the opposite side ‘Torre des Savinar’, but keep walking to the right and follow the wider camino until we come to a road which crosses it. Big stones mark the end of this road.
We follow this to the left, slightly uphill and at the first big pine follow the path which goes left to the “Torre des Savinar”. Reaching the top it is worthwhile climbing to the entrance of the tower and inside to the sightseeing platform. From here we have an exceptional view. On the way back we follow the steep stony path, which leads to a plateau on the left side after 100 m. From here we follow the wider path back to our starting point.

Hiking tour 9
Platja des Canal
Approx: 5 km / 2 h / difference in altitude 80 m
Access: from the bus stop/car park of Salinas Can Masia.

We walk to the east in the direction of the salt loading bay and follow the well marked route to a small residential estate and pass the small houses on the left. Our walk continues along the seaside, we pass landing stages and further on to a place where we see decaying boats and old cable winches.
Passing a white building on the left side, we reach a small path which leads us further along the sea. If we look back, we see the Platja des Salines and at its south end the Torre de ses Portes. We continue our walk along the cliffs and follow the marked coastal path until it goes steeply uphill, however it is still easy to walk.
Reaching the top we walk half left to the other side of the valley to the small Platjo des Canal, which is at the end of the Canal des Olla valley – and here we are. It’s worthwhile to have a break and enjoy the silence of the undisturbed nature. We walk the same way back uphill. Reaching the top we walk onto the ridge and shortly afterwards come to a cave. This small cave may have served as an observation point. From here we walk downhill again, until we reach the coastal path which we follow back to our starting point.

Hiking tour 10
Platia d’en Bossa – Platja des Salinas
Approx: 9 km / 3,5 h / difference in altitude 110 m
Access: from Platja d’en Bossa Club Med by car or bus.

In front of the Club Med we walk between two stone pillars to the beach and find our path on the right hand side, a broad path along which we reach the end of the sandy beach. Crossing a small wooden bridge, we come to the Torre de Sa Sal Rossa. Below there the path continues over stony ground to the bay of Sa Sal Rossa. We walk left, pass high voltage electric mains and arrive at a bay with some boat houses. Behind these we have a panoramic view from Torre de Sa Sal Rossa to the historic town of Eivissa. From here we climb uphill to the ridge. On the opposite hill we can already see the path which leads us to its peak. We keep on walking along the coastal path to the left and walk down into the valley. Now we climb the next ridge. When we reach this ridge, we spot the path where we will continue our walk to the opposite hill. We walk downhill on the narrow path. Here we might choose to have a little break and a picnic. Afterwards we walk straight up the hill and follow the blue marks on the left, along the cliffs, walk over slabs and a narrow path down to the valley. In the valley we folIow a stony path which climbs uphill in bends to the next ridge ‘Punta des Corb Mari’. From this point we have a lovely view of Platja des Cavallet and Torre des Portes. The most exhausting part of this walk has been done and we climb downhill. Much easier than the walk uphill. We cross a stony lane in the next valley and soon reach a paved road. After 20m the path goes left downhill through the forest. The restaurant ‘La Escollera’ is a nice place to have another break.
We walk to Platja d’es Cavallet and then turn right behind the first beach bar. There we reach a broad path to Salinas. We walk straight on and turn around the Salinas on the right to the car park of the Jockey Club. To the right we reach the end of the beach, cross the road and reach the restaurant Can Macia. From here the bus goes back to Club Med.

Hiking tour 11

Approx: 4.5 km / 2 h / difference in altitude 0 m
Access: by car or by bus to the car park at Can Masia.

This tour is not marked, as it is a very easy walk. A hiking tour which is easy, short and very nice at any time of the year. At the end of January, beginning of February the flush of heather, rosemary crook and a lot of other small flowers can be admired, in addition to the first orchids. We walk to the other side of the road to the beach of Platja de Migjorn/Salinas and pass the Jockey Club, which is open all year. From here we can see another beach bar, we walk straight to this bar. Behind this bar we keep on walking on solid ground, no longer on sand, along a coastal path by the sea side to the Torre de ses Portes.
Here we have a nice view of Formentera and Eivissa. After a short rest we walk back along the other side of the headland. Soon we reach the Platja d’es Cavallet, a gay and nudist beach. At the beginning of the beach we walk half left along solid paths, which are sometimes narrow, sometimes broad. We keep on walking along- side the sea until we reach the car park behind the Jockey Club. At this side of the sea it is not as windy as the way we came. The Jockey Club always offers a good meal or a tasty coffee. On the same return route we arrive back at the car park.

We walk down the paved path to the beach and continue our walk along the other side of the beach to another beach, called ‘Petit Arenal’. On the opposite side we pass a boat house and then climb up to a fence with concrete pillars. Further on the fence is broken and we can cross it easily, climb over a small wall, through a little forest and finally reach a plateau. We walk uphill on a paved path and turn to the right behind the apartments in the direction of Club Portinatx. Now we can see the pirate’s tower and walk further on to reach it. It is worth going further on to the terrace of the ruin which can be found behind the tower. Later we go back that way for approx. 100 m and turn onto a stony path.
In front of a private entrance we turn left into the forest. Shortly afterwards we climb downhill to the right hand side and the sea. We walk back, pass the place were we climbed downhill, and walk along the coast until we can see the Portinatx lighthouse from top to bottom. Then we turn to the right and climb a small ravine uphill. Behind the wall of the property we walk left into the forest, along the wall until we reach a stony path. Cala Sant Vicent – Es Culleram
Approx. 13 km / 4 h / altitude difference 150

Sight-seeing at the little cave of Es Culleram, the cult place of the Phoenician goddess of protection – Tanit.
We start at the beginning of the beach behind the coffee shop Es Goch and keep right heading away from the coast. (This is where my Hiking tour No.3 ends). We follow the dry riverbed and pass beneath the bridge. Where the electric line crosses our path, we turn to the right 100 m further on to join the asphalt road. We walk along this road up the valley until we reach a little car park on the right hand side. Here we find the path up to the celebrated cave of Tanit. After a a climb of 3 km we reach the cave with its beautiful view. If we wish to see the interior of the cave we climb through the iron gate to the left and inside find the altar of the goddess. After a break we proceed to the right hand side of the cave.
At the top we follow the dirt road until we reach an asphalt road and turn to the right. Our way leads us – passing a Finca on our right hand – to a broad forest road, which after 800 m, having passed a natural stone wall, becomes a small road. We continue along this road which is covered with stones watching for direction marks.
Then we follow a path up to the left. At the top we follow this path to the right and after quite a while at a little clearing our path goes steeply downwards to the left where it meets a dry riverbed. This we follow downwards to the right, finding a path which brings us, turning to the left, to a wonderful bay. It is worth staying here for a while and then following this path back to the Hotel Alia Dins. From there we walk on the asphalt road down to Cala Sant Vicent.
Observations: In the shade this tour may be somewhat slippery depending upon the time of year, watch your step!

After a little break we go upwards to the right and follow the coastline. Later we go slightly to the right and come to another dry riverbed. This leads us to the left and the sea where we find a little rocky bay. In the middle of the bay we have to climb up, a little to the right, but continue close to the coast.
Afterwards we pass a stone wall. The path continues along the coast and we walk through heather, rosemary and pine trees until we have to cross another stone wall. We reach a little plateau with a pretty view across to Cala den Serra.
We follow the broad dirt road upwards, which soon changes into an asphalt road. We reach the Sant Joan to Portinatx road and follow it until the sign indicating the beginning of Portinatx. This path eventually meets a broad dirt road which after a while returns to the road which we climbed at the beginning of our excursion. There our tour comes to an end and we go down to the right finding the asphalt road again, which leads us to our original point of departure in Benirros.

Soon we have the beginnings of a big hotel development to our right, which has never been finished. Just before a left curve we leave the road going down to the right to a large level area, that was originally to be a helicopter landing site.
Crossing this we find the entrance to a small forest path which goes down somewhat to the left. After about 20 mins. we leave the path and go upwards to the left over a flat stone to the edge of the cliffs, where we have excellent views. We follow the edge for a few metres to the right and then go slightly to the right to find our path again, which now is a little broader. After more views of the cliffs and the hotel Hacienda (5 stars) we go down to the right entering the wood.
When we meet a dirt road we go right and after a while we keep to the right again. At a curve to the right we see a finca before us and continue on our way uphill. After some distance, where the road stays even, there is a slight curve to the left and from the same side comes another lateral dirt road.
There, at an acute angle, we take the road to the right going upwards. This road has natural stone sides. Passing a ruined finca to our left we follow the small path through abandoned terraces with almond and carob trees, heather and savinas.
This path gets broader later on. When we have almost arrived at the top we follow the road to the left. When once again we see the remains of the planned hotel, we turn left, find our asphalt road from the beginning of our walk and keeping left we finish our tour.

Hiking tour 19
Isla Blanca – Portitxol – Isla Blanca
Approx: 13 km /4 h / difference in altitude 200 m
Access: Isla Blanca, like Walking tour 18

We start our walk this time not to the right but straight on in a moderate curve to the left going downwards. We pass a refreshment stall with a terrace looking down to the sea. We continue to follow the asphalt road downhill. A noble German built this road many years ago to make a sandy beach out of the rocks of Isla Blanca. As a special attraction he planned a cable car between the sea and Isla Blanca. At various points of our walk we can still see the foundations of this project. We go on through bushes of myrtle which flower in late spring and have a fine smell. Soon we see the remains of another cable car pillar over the sea. Then we reach a little platform in the road with a big stone wall on the left and at its end we leave the road using a path to the left. Before we come to the sea at Portitxol we see a ruined finca on our left with a bread oven and on the other side its threshing floor, plus the remains of a little cisterna.
We soon see the natural round port of Portitxol with boat-huts and are approaching it fast. After passing pebbles and rocks on the left side of the bay we turn left using a small mountain path uphill. At an isolated fig tree our path turns right and we arrive at another ruined finca with another bread oven and threshing floor. The path passes between this and the Iinco going upwards. When we get to a crossing path we turn left. At the top we follow a dirt road along a natural stone wall, to the right we see various fincas. 100 m after the end of the stone wall we turn left on a road uphill. When the road turns left we look for a little path on our right, climbing over a big rock to continue partly on top of a wall. We cross through a natural stone wall and instead of heading for a finca we keep left to wards a cisterna on top of the mountain. From the cisterna we follow the broad dirt road down through several curves. When we reach the asphalt road from Sant Miquel to Isla Blanca we go left uphill until we find the place where we started.

Hiking tour 20
Sant Mateu – Cala d’Albarca – Sant Mateu
Approx:. 9 km / 3 h / difference in altitude 190 m

At Sant Mateu we get out of the car and face the church, one of those typical of rural Ibiza. To our left is a small asphalt road. We get back into the car and follow this road through the plain of Sant Mateu until we come to a diversion. The road to the right leads to Sant Miquel/Sant Joan and we go straight on. After a house with yellow window frames for 1.6km and we turn right into a dirt road, where we leave the car. We walk on this road which having started level heads upwards. We pass a nice finca on the left, pretty orchards to the right and wooded areas, at the top we reach the edge of the cliffs, where we continue downwards.
After only 20 m we have a fantastic view over the bay d’ Albarca. After a few curves a little cave on the left in the rocks appears, which could protect us in the event of a thunderstorm. Advancing we look to our left at the white cliffs of Cala d’Alborco whose colour is caused by primitive plants. Quite close to the sea we come to a platform with a pretty panoramic view. We see the remains of a little house with a garden and cisterna which was built by a Swiss guy in the times of the hippy movement, he also constructed our road. Later he left all of this behind and his work was destroyed.
We go on to the right of a rock to the sea and find a big natural bridge. You can explore its impressive surroundings. There are no buildings around and you should enjoy the absolute silence which you normally find there. So have a good break! Afterwards we go back upwards to our point of departure. Those who like climbing a little and want to bathe take a diversion to the right a little distance from the platform, going almost parallel to the sea. After a short while we find a path going down on our right which gets steeper closer to the shore.
After a sandy stretch we reach the rocks of the shore to the left, where we find a little pebble beach. We go back the same way reaching the dirt road again where we continue upwards to the right. After about 20 m we take a little path on the right uphill which meets our original dirt road leading us back to our point of departure.

Santa Agnes – Ses Margalides – Santa Agnes
Approx: 8 km / 2,5 h / difference in altitude r 90 m
Access: Santa Agnes car park 50 m to the left of the restaurant Can Cosmi

From the village car park we go left along the asphalt road. In a curve to the left, with an old fountain hut on the right, we leave the asphalt and go upwards to the right on a dirt road. Walking tour No. 7 continues here along the asphalt. The road passes between two farmhouses with a large threshing floor and later we find a big mansion on our left. After a large field with a natural stone wall we go left and the road slowly becomes a path. At a little clearing we look into a precipice between the cliffs on the right and if we go straight upwards a little we get to the edge of the cliffs. The views from there make you dizzy. We go back to the clearing and at a big pine tree we turn right into a small forest path.
The path bends slowly to the left and we find an old charcoal burner’s place. A few metres later we meet a dirt road. This we follow to the right until the sea. Some foreigner long ago built this road to realise his dream of a home amongst the rocks on the shore. A long time ago this dream was abandoned although now it seems, that somebody wants to dream there again.
Passing this house we get to the coast. Here we should explore the area a little and have a good rest. Then we go up the road again ignoring all diversions. From the top we go down to the plain of Santa Aqnes where we meet the asphalt road which leads us to the left and the village again.

We take the sandy route to the left and arrive at a transformer station then enter the wood parallel to the beach.(On the right we find a private property and on the left it goes uphill).

In front of the church of Sant Josep we take the Carrer des Jordi and after 10 m go to the right uphill. We soon leave the broad dirt road and climb on our left up a small path, which has been marked. Again and again we have marvellous views. Arriving at the top at the platform with the small antenna, we have possibly the most impressive panoramic view of the island. After a break there we continue along the ridge arriving at a big television tower, which marks the highest point of the island (475m). Later on we take a small asphalt road to the left which meets a main road. To the right we see the church of Sant Josep again.
