Travel Notes
Flights
Numerous airlines – ryanair, easyjet, flybe, monarch, thomas cook fly direct to ibiza. We often find flights for £40 or so, but at peak times (eg end-parties in Oct) they can rocket. Direct flights are from March through October. A cheap flight with poor arrival/departure times can be expensive as you have to add the transfer costs to Santa Eulalia, taxis are €50 late and the cheaper car hires charge extra after 9pm.
Directions from airport to apartments
Drive on dual carriageway from the airport following signposts to Santa Eulalia. You go past Ibiza (Eivissa) around 5km and continue another 15km or so towards Santa Eulalia. You come to a roundabout, go straight across and then the road goes over Santa Eulalia river. Turn first right and again first right and you see Marsol in front of you (we are between two larger hotels .. the Riomar and W-ibiza).
There are regular buses (during ‘normal’ hours) from the airport (go outside and walk to your right) into Santa Eulalia. From the bus stop walk down to the sea-front and head right along the front towards the river. You walk past the round fountain and then get to Marsol Apartments.
Car Hire
We don’t hire peak season as it can be over 500eu/wk. Out of season we tend to search for a good deal using websites Cardelmar, doyouspain, discovercars etc. The tier1 companies are pricey but have booths in the airport. We hire cheap from off-airport tier2 companies (eg clickrent) who are all similar. DO take annual hire-car insurance (eg insurance4carhire) as you will need to covered for any damages. They all take over 1k eu as a deposit.
They main advantage of a car is getting to those of-the-beaten-track beaches and areas for a hike.
Santa Eulalia boat trips
Run april through october to Es Canar, Ibiza town, cala llonga, Formentera.
